Day1: Arrive Siem Reap

1Arrival at Siem Reap. Transfer to the Hotel. Visit of the main temples of Angkor Wat on The small and great circuit. South Gate of Angkor Thom to discover the ramparts (6 km long) of this old city, still covered by the jungle to get to the tower of the 4 faces, the Bayon temple, Baphuon, Night spent in a Hotel in Siem Reap. (-/-/D).

Day2: Siem Reap Angkor Explorer

Go on to visit Angkor Wat. We take lunch there. Transfer to the isolated temple Bantey Samré, trekking along the dike of the Baray to discover the villages. We arrive at the Royal Basin of Srah Sang for sunset. 1 hour massage. Night spent in Siem Reap. (4–5 h trekking). (B/L/D)

Day3: Tonle Sap-Kampong Phluk

We walk along the Siem Reap river up to the lake, to discover the multicoloured villagers life. Every year, the water level of the Tonle Sap, the Big Lake of Cambodia, varies from 4 to 8 m, inundating land and forest of this region from August to January. The wooden dugout canoes will allow us to get inside the forests. If the water level is low, we will discover the floating villages and cruise up the Sangker River, along the bird sanctuary of Prek Toal. Visit of other floating villages to observe the fishing technique, fishpond and crocodile breeding. We bivouac in a village. (B/L/D)

Day4: Siem Reap-Kampong Thom-Kampong Cham3

We return by boat and depart for Kompong Thom (Visit Sambor Prei Kub if there is an opportunity time) and than toward to Kompong Cham. Overnight in the hotel in Kampong Cham. (B/L/D)

Day5: Kampong Cham-Mondulkiri

Departure with a van to Sen Monorom (province of Mondolkiri). In case of bad road conditions, we might use a pick-up (4×4). At evening, visit of the village and it’s surrounding. Night spent in a guesthouse in Sen Monorom. (B/L/D)

Day6: Mondulkiri4

Journey of trekking and on elephant back in this wild region to admire it’s many waterfalls.  We cross the jungle covered hills to meet the Phnong, a minority ethnic population. We \watch the way they grow their rice on the dry ground and how they are weaving. Lunch is taken near a waterfall lost in the jungle. We continue trekking and on elephant back and spend the night with the villagers or bivouacking in the jungle if the conditions allow it. (Journey of trekking and elephant riding). (B/L/D)

Day7: Mondulkiri

Trekking starts early in the morning in this wild animal region.

We cross-forests and hills, stop and relax at a waterfall. In the afternoon, we climb up the hill of Sen Monorom to visit the pagoda and enjoy the panoramic view. Return to Sen Monorom. Night spent in the guesthouse of Sen Monorom (4 h walking). (B/L/D)

Day8: Mondulkiri-Kratie

Departure by minibus or pick-up (4×4) for Kratie, old colonial town of the Mekong. Visit of the waterfalls of Kampi. By canoe we cruise on the Mekong to watch the dolphins. Night spent in Kratie. (B/L/D)

Day9: Kratie-Phnom Penh

Early morning visit of the old colonial town of Kratie (2 h walking). We take a minibus to Phnom Penh. Cruise on the Mekong River for sunset and spend the night in a Hotel in Phnom Penh. (B/L/-)

Day10: Phnom Penh

Visit of the National Museum, Silver Pagoda, Genocide museum and “Russian” market for last shopping (2 h walking). Night spent in the Hotel. (B/-/-)

Day11: Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville

The morning transfer to Sihanoukvill, Rest of the day relax on the white sand beach. Night spent in Sihanoukvill. (B/L/-)

Day12: Sihanoukville

Morning leave the hotel to the National Ream Park (20km). 1hour hike through mangrove tree to reach the harbor of the boat. Cruise to many islands surround Ream and lunch will be providing at the site. Late afternoon return to the hotel.

Free at leisure stay on the white sand beach. Overnight at hotel in Sihanoukville.

Day13: Sihanoukville-Islands

A boat tour on the island of Bamboo with the possibility of making snorkelling (mask and snorkel available) to discover the sea bottom. Picnic barbeque on deserted beaches and swimming. Back in the afternoon to discover a village of fishermen and their activity. Overnight at the hotel near the sea. (B/L/-)

Day14: Sihanoukville-Phnom Penh

Free at leisure till transfer to the Phnom Penh airport for your international return flight. (B/-/-)

During your stay in Siem Reap, you will have, of course, the opportunity to visit the main temples of Angkor through the “small” and “big” circuits of the archaeological park: Angkor Wat, Bayon, Terraces of Lepper King and Elephants etc…
